Mace Director appointed New Chair of Achilles’ Construction Community

7 Jun 2015

Brian will be responsible for over-seeing the growth and development of the community – where 19 of the country’s biggest construction firms use a single pre-qualification and audit process to shortlist suppliers for work. Brian was voted by his peers to head up the group.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, including more than a decade at Mace, where he is also Director of the Mace Business School.  Since the school’s inception in 2006, Brian has trained on average 350 managers a year from within the supply chain.  He is also heavily involved in cross-industry initiatives to streamline pre-qualification processes and raising industry standards.

Achilles BuildingConfidence community manager Lee Brunsden said: “That someone of Brian’s calibre is playing a key role in driving forward the development of BuildingConfidence is testament to the gravitas of the community in terms of streamlining pre-qualification and setting standards across the construction industry.”

Brian added “As steering group Chair I look forward drawing on the wealth of best practice knowledge around the table which include leaders in supply chain management and procurement, to ensure that BuildingConfidence delivers the future requirements of the industry.”

Brian replaces Skanska director of procurement and supply chain Dale Turner, who recently completed a term as steering group chair.
