Don Robert has been appointed Chairman of Achilles – a leader in managing communities of trading partners across the world to reduce supply chain risk.
Don Robert is former CEO of Experian – a global provider of information services employing 17,000 people across 44 countries with a turnover of $4.8 billion. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Experian, and a Non-Executive Director of Compass Group PLC – which has a £17.6 billion turnover.

Buying organisations use Achilles to carry out due diligence and manage risks among their supply chain, working collaboratively to agree common standards of suppliers. Suppliers create ‘online profiles’ outlining their compliance to these criteria – with details visible to all buying organisations in the community. It means buyers can easily identify and mitigate risks and suppliers need only provide information once to all buyers. Achilles acts as an independent partner to check, validate and audit suppliers’ information and manage the associated IT infrastructure.
Don was appointed CEO of Experian in February 2005. After leading the flotation of Experian from GUS plc in 2006, he guided the business until July 2014, when he stepped down as Chief Executive and was appointed Chairman.
Prior to working at Experian Don was Independent Director of First Advantage – a global provider of integrated talent acquisition products and services. He also worked as Executive Vice President of Mortgage Origination Services and President of the Consumer Information and Services Group at First American – which provides financial and insurance services in the real estate sector.
During his early career, he worked as president of Credco Inc – a national mortgage credit reporting company, which was subsequently acquired by First American. He also spent 15 years working at US Bancorp, an American diversified financial services holding company headquartered in Minneapolis.
Don replaces Mark Redwood, who stood down from the role after 2.5 years as Chairman of Achilles. During his tenure, Mark supported Achilles through a period of great change, culminating in the successful delivery of a new global platform.
