The last year has seen many new cases in the UK courts that affect the way that procurement procedures must be conducted by public authorities and utilities, as well as cases of the European Court of Justice that are still relevant to interpreting the UK procurement Regulations. As well as important issues arising from Covid-19 procurement, such as how to conduct negotiated procedures and when these procedures can be used for urgent situations, the new case law covers a range of other practical topics, such as debriefing, framework agreements and contracts divided into lots.

About the speakers
Professor Sue Arrowsmith QC (hon), is Professor Emerita at the University of Nottingham, where she was formerly Achilles Professor of Public Procurement Law and Policy. She has been instrumental in reforming public procurement rules and was a member of the UK Government’s Procurement Transformation Advisory Panel, advising on post-Brexit procurement reform. She is currently a member of its Thematic Working Group on Procurement advising on public procurement rules in trade agreements.
Jennifer Smith, Head of Training and Consultancy and Contract Management at Achilles, has over 25 years’ experience in Contract/Commercial & Financial Management. Jennifer has extensive knowledge in Regulated industries including Rail, Oil & Gas and Electrical in both Client and Contractor environments. She leads the Training and Consultancy side of the Achilles business across the UK.
