Achilles, a global leader in supply chain risk and ESG performance management, proudly sponsored the Social Value Award at this year’s York and North Yorkshire Top 100 Businesses event, hosted by York St John University’s Business School in partnership with The Press.
The 2025 Social Value Award was won by JN Bentley Ltd, part of the Mott MacDonald Group. Based in Skipton and employing nearly 2,000 people. JN Bentley impressed with its values-led approach to civil engineering and its long-standing commitment to building positive, sustainable outcomes for people, communities, and the environment.
The award was accepted on behalf of JN Bentley by Hayley van Leeuwen, Chief Marketing Officer at Achilles, who said: “We’re delighted to help shine a spotlight on companies like JN Bentley that embody what social value looks like in action, where caring is not just a slogan but a strategy.”
The judging process was led by Adam Whitfield, Head of ESG at Achilles, who evaluated over 100 companies to determine the winner. He noted: “What stood out about JN Bentley was not just its ESG performance, but how deeply embedded its values are across everything it does, from local employment and education partnerships to low-carbon construction and biodiversity enhancement.”
