The ESG Training course is structured into three half-day modules, scheduled over the span of three weeks. Each module, part of the Academy, is led by one of our seasoned trainers. Each one of our trainers brings extensive expertise in their respective fields.
Achilles Academy courses are interactive remote classroom based sessions. They include case studies, scenarios along with relevant case law, standards, and legislation. As well as this participants gain access to the Achilles toolkit THEMiS, a comprehensive online resource for regulated procurement. THEMiS includes guidance, consolidated legislation, case law, and the option to ask specific ESG-related questions. All these resources will be accessible for the duration of the academy.

Caroline Edney is a Regulated Procurement Consultant and Trainer at Achilles Information Limited. Caroline is responsible for delivering Regulated Procurement training, advice, and guidance in the Public Sector, focusing on a delivery programme for the open regulated training courses.
Caroline has over 30 years’ experience in procurement, both in manufacturing and public sector. She has worked in several large Higher Education establishments at a senior/director level acquiring knowledge and experience in leading procurement teams, undertaking, and overseeing a wide range of procurement requirements for the business and managing complex multi-million-pound projects.
As an Advocate for Procurement, Caroline’s contribution to developing the procurement profession currently spans over 20 years. Her commitment, passion and drive is also applied when training and encourages sharing of practical examples when interpreting the legislation which creates good debate and engagement during the training sessions. Caroline has also provided Procurement and Commercial expertise as a consultant over the last 3 years, supporting public sector organisations with procuring complex, highly risk, large-scale projects in line with the legislative requirements.
Caroline has achieved a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (MSc), is a chartered fellow (FCIPS) and MCIPS qualified and has also been recognised for her commercial experience and knowledge and granted fellowship status for the Institute of Commercial Management and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. She is also a member of the Institute for Leadership and Management. Caroline is now also undertaking the Master of Laws in Public Procurement Law and Policy from the University of Nottingham under the direction of Professor Sue Arrowsmith.

Mike has an impressive domestic and international experience in Environmental Services and Carbon Management. He lead the development and commercialisation of the world’s first ISO 14065 Carbon Certification Scheme – Carbon Reduce (formerly known as CEMARS) on behalf of the New Zealand Government Enviro-Mark Solutions (Toitu Enviorcare). He has been the Executive Director of the Carbon Market Institute, the Australian Peak Industry Body for Carbon Professionals, and has worked as General Manager Global Operations for one of the world’s largest and most successful Carbon Developers. Mike has been a Board Member of The International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) during his time working in the City of London and worked with some of the largest UK carbon neutral business. Mike holds an MBA from Canterbury University and is a recent graduate from Cambridge University Net Zero Leadership Programme.
Mike’s focus is helping Achilles’ clients manage their carbon risk and maximising their investment at a strategic level to add value at both an organisational level and with broader stakeholders.

Adam is a sustainability specialist with over a decade of international experience in social and environmental auditing, human rights due diligence, social accountability projects, ESG strategy development and disclosure. He has supported multinational organisations in defining ethical procurement strategies and reporting standards to international frameworks.
During his career, he has led the development of strategic partnerships between international clients and human rights NGOs to improve employment practices within supply chains. His work with partners in modern slavery prevention has been used in both industry and government reports on the challenge of exploitation in international supply chains. Adam continues to collaborate with researchers and policy-makers on human rights and environmental due diligence, providing them with on-the-ground insight into sustainability challenges within global supply chains.
