At Achilles, we believe in the power of people working together, finding better ways to do things, leading by example, and getting things done. This approach has shaped a culture that encourages collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Across our global teams, this translates into a shared mission: not only helping organisations understand supplier risk, but also working with suppliers to address gaps, improve standards, and build stronger, more resilient supply chains.

Our heritage – our history has shaped who we are.

Achilles was established in Norway in 1990, and our origins continue to influence how we operate today. Rooted in the values of Scandinavian society, our approach is shaped by Janteloven — the idea that the needs of the collective outweigh those of the individual. This principle sits at the heart of the Achilles model: collaborative, transparent, and designed for shared value creation.

Originally created to help Norway’s offshore oil and gas industry meet health and safety requirements more efficiently, Achilles introduced a network-based model that enabled buyers and suppliers to work from a shared set of standards and assessments. This reduced duplication, improved consistency of supplier data, and created a more reliable foundation not only for decision-making, but also for supplier development and improvement.

Today, that same principle underpins a global platform. From 23 locations worldwide, we support organisations across industries with supplier risk, compliance, and performance management solutions that improve visibility, reduce operational friction, and strengthen resilience. Whether through shared buyer networks or tailored enterprise programmes, we help organisations improve supplier assurance, support supplier development, meet regulatory expectations, and make better-informed decisions across their supply chains.

Bringing together the best in risk and compliance

In recent years, Achilles has expanded its capabilities through the integration of three specialist supply chain risk and data companies — GoSupply, GRMS, and InfoControl — into a single global platform.

  • GoSupply, founded in 2017, brought expertise in supplier qualification and configurable risk workflows, strengthening Achilles’ ability to support tailored compliance programmes that also enable supplier improvement and corrective action tracking at scale.
  • GRMS, based in Irvine, California, added deep experience in supplier risk management across North America, supporting organisations in managing exposure to operational, financial, and compliance risk, while also improving supplier engagement processes.
  • InfoControl strengthened Achilles’ technology capability in data automation and analytics, enhancing our ability to process supplier information, identify risk signals earlier, and support targeted improvement activity.

Together, these capabilities have strengthened Achilles as a unified platform for supplier intelligence and engagement — combining network data, structured assessments, and continuous monitoring with tools that help suppliers improve over time.

Comprehensive insight into global risk

Our platform is designed to give organisations a clear, structured, and continuously updated view of supplier risk across multiple dimensions, while also identifying where suppliers can improve and supporting progress over time, including:

  • Carbon and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
  • Environmental, social, and governance (ESG)
  • Financial stability
  • Digital Insurance Verification
  • Health and safety
  • Human rights (including ILO labour standards, modern slavery, and child labour risks)
  • Online reputation and adverse media
  • Sanctions and watchlists
  • Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud risk
Achilles partners with Unseen UK to support their work to tackle worker abuse and exploitation

I’m delighted to be partnering with Achilles to tackle worker abuse and exploitation.  Our collaboration and sharing of knowledge and data supports both our organisations to build resiliency within global businesses to the risks of modern slavery.

The Achilles “Network effect”

At the core of Achilles is a shared intelligence and engagement network. By standardising supplier qualification and assessment at an industry level, we create a system where supplier data is continuously validated, reused, and improved over time — and where suppliers are supported to raise standards, close gaps, and strengthen performance.

Buyers reduce duplication in supplier due diligence, while suppliers benefit from a single set of assessments that can be shared across multiple customers, along with clear feedback and improvement pathways. This improves efficiency, but more importantly, it improves the quality, consistency, and comparability of supplier data across the network.

As participation grows, the network becomes more powerful: increasing data depth, improving risk visibility, and strengthening the ability to identify issues earlier. Importantly, it also creates a structured mechanism for supplier improvement — helping organisations not only identify risk, but actively reduce it at source through engagement and corrective action.

For organisations that require a higher degree of customisation, Achilles also provides private enterprise networks. These combine the benefits of the global Achilles ecosystem with tailored risk criteria, bespoke assessments, and exclusive visibility where required.

The Achilles purpose and culture

Our purpose and culture guide how we operate and how we support our customers and suppliers every day.

The Achilles purpose – why we are here

Achilles exists to help organisations manage supplier and third-party risk with confidence, while also enabling suppliers to improve their performance over time. We support customers in meeting regulatory and contractual obligations, improving supply chain visibility, and strengthening resilience through reliable supplier intelligence and structured engagement.

We work with leading organisations across financial, industrial, commercial, and public sectors that require robust, auditable supplier information to support risk management, compliance, and operational decision-making — and who are committed to raising standards across their supply base.

By improving the quality and transparency of supplier data and actively supporting supplier development, we help reduce uncertainty, improve performance, and strengthen supply chains over time.

Achilles values

Our values are the principles that guide how we work together and how we support our customers and suppliers. They shape our culture and how we deliver impact every day.

  • Be Curious: ask questions, understand why, challenge and grow.
  • Commit: show passion, create value, deliver simple solutions, be a leader.
  • Collaborate: think inclusive, show respect, be helpful, give thanks.
