The Achilles Utility Sector Regulated Procurement Academy is designed to improve understanding of the principles and objectives of the regulated procurement legislation from the fundamentals of the Procurement Principles and the Utility Regulations 2016 to how they translate into practical application.
The Achilles Utility Sector Academy is a series of 5 full days over 5 months that have proven invaluable in unifying procurement processes and internal governance policies, clarifying knowledge and dispelling misconceptions and myths.
Delegates will gain full knowledge of the Regulated Procurement rules, appreciate the requirement for process and gain an insight into what risk may be created by not applying them.
The training is designed to provide procurement practitioners with a level of knowledge that ensures full understanding of the complexities of regulated procurement legislation. This training is appropriate for procurement practitioners, contract managers and operational stake holders, who are at the beginning of their career or those more experienced who would like to refresh their knowledge.
The Utility Regulated Procurement Academy modules incorporate 5 full days, with open courses taking 5 months to complete and in-house courses timetabled to suit an organisations own requirements. Each Academy will be delivered by one of our experienced trainers, all with a wealth of knowledge in regulated procurement legislation and practitioner knowledge.
Our team consists of CIPS qualified practitioners and Master degree graduates in Procurement and Procurement Law.
Our courses are currently delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams, which are designed to be interactive sessions with case studies, exercises, discussions, scenarios and examples of relevant case law. They are all supported by the Achilles procurement toolkit THEMiS, a web-based EU procurement encyclopedia, providing guidance, case law, consolidated legislation and the function to ask specific regulated related procurement questions which will be accessible for the duration of the academy.
Over the course of 5 months, we will cover:
Module 1 – Understanding the regulated procurement concept, 19.05.2021 (9:00 – 15:00)
Module 2 – Understanding pre-market engagement and creating notices in Find a Tender, 21.06.2021 (9:00 – 15:00)
Module 3 – Selection and award, 21.07.2021 (9:00 – 15:00)
Module 4 – Framework agreements, dynamic purchasing systems and remedies, 18.08.2021 (9:00 – 15:00)
Module 5 – The business game case study, 27.09.2021 (9:00 – 15:00)
