automotive
The automotive industry is exposed to a set of critical challenges and trends that are accelerating the need to fine-tune the way they manage their supplier relationships.
Managing supplier information effectively with an extended, tiered supply base is vital; there is an increasing need for accurate, refreshed and validated information across the supply network to provide greater visibility. Automotive supply chains need to be better informed with accurate, fact-based intelligence to aid their decision making.
Achilles Automotive Scheme is being developed as a searchable, web-based portal to give companies 360 degree visibility of their suppliers over the lifetime of the business relationship. Based on a client’s attitude to risk, a risk model is created to categorise which products and services are most critical to the organisation. Suppliers are required to provide increasing levels of information based on the risks posed by their products and services – from a simple registration with basic information through to physical audit of a supplier’s capability. The information is verified and validated to give the client an assurance that the information they hold on suppliers is up-to-date and accurate.
The Automotive Scheme is a means by which automotive companies can mitigate the risk posed by their suppliers through non-compliance, streamline the procurement function through efficient processes and reduce the costs of managing supplier information, a previously labour-intensive and time consuming process.
Achilles is working in partnership with Goodwood to deliver the Automotive scheme.
