The latest Achilles Competitive Dialogue conference attracted a full house last week, proving that this new procurement method continues to flourish.
Competitive Dialogue is a new procurement method which is designed to provide a flexible procedure for awarding complex contracts. The procedure was introduced in the EU Public Sector Procurement Directive (2004/18/EC) and implemented into UK law via the Public Contracts Regulations SI 2006/5 with effect from 31 January 2006.
As many practitioners have discovered, the new procedure provides a valuable method for undertaking these complex procurements, which can enhance value for money and ensure that goods and services procured closely match the authority’s priorities.
“In order to operate the procedure successfully and to deal with legal risks, practitioners need both a sound knowledge of the legal framework – the legislation and the case law - and a thorough understanding of the strategic options open to them within that framework” commented Glenn Fletcher from Achilles. “The Achilles Competitive Dialogue conference provides delegates with all the legal and practical knowledge they need in order to operate and advise on the procedure.”
This conference is structured to allow maximum participation with sessions split between conference sessions, with expert information provided on all aspects of the procedure, and workshop sessions, facilitated by lawyers and practitioners with experience of operating competitive dialogue.
