Overview
Corporate Responsibility is becoming a major issue for the UK Utilities as they increasingly monitor their supply chains on with a developing list of criteria including health, safety, the environment, and social and ethical criteria.
All major companies are under increasing pressure to demonstrate responsible business practices to shareholders, customers, staff and other stakeholders.
This conference provided an opportunity for suppliers to find out directly from the Utilities’ what their expectations of supplier corprorate responisbiity activities are and how to communicate these.
Why attend?
- Find out how the Utilities are implementing Corporate Responsibilty in their supply chains
- Discover what responsible business practices Utilities expect of their suppliers
- Hear about one of the key corporate responsibility issues, migrant labour, in the build up to the 2012 Olympics
- Participate in a series of workshops with the chance to engage with the Utilities and other suppliers working in this industry
- Learn how other suppliers have implemented successful corporate responsibility programmes within their businesses
- Discover how to report and communicate your Corporate Responsibility activities to your customers
- Get to know about how the latest addition to the Corporate Responsibility agenda, Climate Change, will impact on your business
Format
This conference involved both:
- conference sessions, with expert information, and
- workshop sessions, facilitated by experts with experience of the corporate responsibility agenda in the utilities supply chain
The day was structured to allow maximum participation. There was ample opportunity, during the conference sessions, the workshops and the refreshment breaks, to put questions to the speakers. Similar conferences featuring the conference speakers normally attract a mix of delegates from all levels and it is expected that the conference will thus also provide a valuable opportunity for participants to share experiences and learn from experiences of other delegates.
