Total supplier coverage

Achilles Total Supplier Management provides you with a complete picture of supply chain risk, by validating and maintaining information about all your current suppliers as well as  giving you access to potential new suppliers through your Achilles Community.

Supplier pre-qualification

The solution uses a buyer-specific supplier registration questionnaire to assess and manage against the risk criteria or standards that fit your organisation. The questionnaires are assessed and suppliers are assigned a low, medium or high level in the risk profile model. The assigned risk profile levels (reflecting your organisation's perspective of supplier importance and business criticality) determine the next steps in the qualification process. This information (specific to your organisation) is available exclusively for you from your Achilles Community account.

We use online qualification, 3rd party data feeds, and our team of accredited auditors to assess suppliers' capabilities and ensure compliance with legislative and corporate standards. This typically covers the following areas:

  • Company information
  • Financials
  • Legal
  • Environment
  • Quality
  • CSR
  • Products & Services

Achilles Total Supplier Management allows you to access and review information about all your suppliers as well as viewing other suppliers subscribing to that Community.

1. Supplier Registration

  • All your suppliers are directed (via website messages, email, phone or letter) to register via an Achilles hosted solution on your company website. Supplier registration is the start of the vendor qualification process to supply your organisation.
  • The registration form is typically an integral part of your online supplier portal, where suppliers can find out how to become a qualified supplier to your company, or update their details if already qualified.
  • All supplier data is validated and annually quality checked by Achilles.
  • The data collected is used to determine the next steps in the qualification process based on an assessment of the potential and importance to your organisation of the product/service the supplier provides.

2. Assess Risk Profile

  • A risk profile level is assessed and assigned at registration in order to manage the risk associated with the products and services the supplier provides.
  • Risk can be defined per product / service category and is an integral part of the basic registration form. The risk model is specific to your organisation and is typically based on parameters such as spend, Health & Safety, Environment, Quality, and Sustainability / CSR etc.
  • This assigned risk-profile level (based on product/service category and other information provided by the supplier at registration) determines the next steps in supplier qualification process.

3. Manage Risk

  • Suppliers with a low level risk profile are typically only required to submit the basic information captured at initial registration.
  • A supplier assessed as having products/services (and other factors) with a higher degree of importance and criticality to buyers (medium/high risk profile) will be required to complete a full pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ). Those with the highest scores may be additionally required to undergo an on-site audit or assessment.

4. Buyer solutions

  • Once validated, the supplier details are uploaded into the Achilles Community (and are available to all registered Buyers.*)
  • *Your low-risk profile suppliers who complete only the basic registration (but don't complete the standard Community PQQ) will be visible to you but not to other buyer organisations  within the Community.
  • Buyers can use a range of search tools to identify suppliers, with the knowledge that the information shown has been checked and verified by Achilles.
  • The Supplier information is maintained and quality checked by Achilles at least every 12 months.
  • As an Achilles Total Supplier Management buyer you have access to a customised search tool within your Community account. This gives you access to all your current suppliers as well as the ability to search for and view any other suppliers within the Community.
  • A range of additional modules can be added to buyer programmes to further enhance your capabilities within the Community solution.

5. Interface with Buyer Systems – Option

  • An interface with your back-office systems such as ERP can be developed to keep your supplier data accurate and up-to-date. The interface between Achilles and your internal back-office / ERP systems ensures a higher quality of supplier information, reducing the risk of losing supplier contacts and/or time wasted through working with incorrect information.
  • The integration solution is designed around your specific requirements and business processes and could include use of your vendor creation form as the basis for the initial supplier registration.
  • The Data interface is configurable to work with your back-office system requirements.
