Those parties operating in the building and civil engineering market and intend to be accepted as reliable suppliers, are requested to carry out the approval process in StartBANK. The process starts by ordering registration material from Achilles. An electronic questionnaire will then be made available. Through completionof this questionnaire a company thus creates its profile. One is asked to answer questions related to geographical location, financial information, and information about capacities, insurances, quality systems, HSE, taxes and levies. Through the questionnaire the supplier also will have an opportunity to describe in detail which goods and services being offered, as well as references to earlier deliveries.
As soon as a supplier has achieved approval in StartBANK, all the detailed information given in the questionnaire will be transferred to a separate database, which will be made available to the purchasers and project managers within the building and civil engineering business.
Use of the StartBANK system
The aim of the participating construction companies is to establish bidder's lists with basis in the supplier’s register. Suppliers are identified in the database at search. The searches are based on those searching criteria the buyer finds relevant for the acquisition.
The major building and civil engineering companies intend not to use parties not being approved through this arrangement. Only those suppliers with certificates of registration issued by StartBANK will be evaluated as relevant bidders.

The Steering Group for StartBANK:
There is established a Steering Group, which is addressing all major governance issues for StartBANK. “Byggenæringens Landsforbund” (The Building Business Association) (BNL) appoints members of the Steering Group from those users of StartBANK who has entered into an agreement with Achilles. Also companies not being members of The Building Business Association (BNL) may be represented in the Steering Group.
