Carbon: Don’t be an April Fool
On 1st April this year the UK government’s mandatory CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme legislation commences affecting all organisations with £500K or greater energy spend. Recent estimates suggest almost two-thirds of companies affected are unprepared for compliance with the new legislation. Inaccurate measurement or failure to reduce carbon emissions could lead to heavy financial penalties and brand damage. Organisations are turning to the accuracy and credibility of Achilles carbonReduction programme to ensure they have confidence in their approach to CRC compliance. Achilles anticipates its certification standard CEMARS (Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction scheme) to be recognised as an Early Action Metric by the Environment Agency, which will deliver further financial benefits from participation in the carbonReduction programme.
