General principles
Achilles, as operator of Connexio for the gathering and processing of personal data is first and foremost subject to provisions of the (German) Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), as well as similar European Union provisions.
This guideline to data protection outlines, in the sense of these regulations, the personal data Achilles and its associated companies can collect while utilizing Connexio and how this information and these data from Achilles can be processed and applied. Furthermore, this guideline defines in the points below what information and data will be provided, to whom and for what purpose (Sec. 10 BDSG).
The Internet websites operated by Achilles contain links to other websites. Achilles is not responsible for the data protection policies and contents of these other Internet websites. Achilles reserves the right, without prior notice, to adapt the information provided in this data protection guideline to changing legislation, jurisdiction or business processes. The current version released here is always valid. Whenever it is necessary from a legal aspect, Achilles will request from you a renewed agreement.
To protect the personal data you enter into Connexio against unauthorized access and abuse, we have taken operative security precautions. Individual organizational measures, taken to guarantee data is secure (Sec. 9 BDSG), will not be disclosed by us for security reasons.
Information and data in Connexio – gathering, application and access privileges
Complete utilization of Connexio requires a company or suppliers – hereinafter called Suppliers - to register / apply through Connexio. For this purpose, Achilles obtains data and information about the company, products and services as well as personal data from contact persons in order to ensure the services Achilles offers are being carried out.
Achilles utilizes the stored data exclusively for the purpose of ensuring the services it offers are being carried out. Even after the relationship with the user has ended, general data (company name, complete address, telephone number and firm home page) as well as data about contact persons (salutation, first name, last name, telephone number and e-mail address) are still retained.
Suppliers consent to personal data (data about contact persons) being processed and permanently retained for the purpose of carrying out offered services.
Achilles utilizes personal data to forward e-mails with important information related to registration and prequalification in Connexio-related topics. In addition, Achilles utilizes personal data (data about contact persons) to send promotional e-mails. If you no longer wish to receive such e-mails, you will have the opportunity at anytime to cancel their delivery.
Who has access to personal information and data?
Only authorized / registered users (Achilles and its associated companies as well as their registered clients in the public utilities industry) have access to information and data entered by the user, other than username and password, in accordance with the business model and corporate objective. This specifically means:
- Only documented / registered users, i.e. the user him- (or her-) self, Achilles including its associated companies as well as their registered clients in the public utilities industry, have privilege to access all user-entered information and data about a company as well as all personal data about a contact person before, during and after registration / prequalification in Connexio.
- Only authorized / registered users, i.e. Achilles including its associated companies as well as their registered clients in the public utilities industry) have privilege to access general data about a company (company name, complete address, telephone and fax number and firm home page), products and services as well as data about contact persons in Achilles’s “Global Utility Business Directory”.
