For many years Achilles Nordic (Scandinavia), Achilles UK and Achilles Spain/Portugal has already been working with privatised and state-operated organisations from the transport industry.
Today we can announce that three German public transport companies – in particular Rheinbahn , BOGESTRA and üstra – have come to the decision that Achilles develops and operates a tailored online supplier information and management system.
12 June 2008 - this will be the first day of a two day workshop. At this workshop the transport companies and Achilles will meet to define the requirements that all of those organisations have in common. “We welcome every transport company in Germany, Eastern and Central Europe that is interested in joining this workshop”, says Stefanie Herr (Achilles) and adds, “It is Achilles’ business model that several buying organisations of one industry form a community in order to set an industry standard. This exists already in those countries in which Achilles has been working with different industries.”
Next to the operation of the online system Achilles will also execute the verification/ pre-qualification of suppliers on behalf of the transport companies. With this Achilles can support the buying organisations in minimising the risk in the supply chain.
connvenio, the new online supplier information and management system for the transport industry in Germany, Eastern and Central Europe, will be launched in autumn 2008.
