Achilles has appointed Paul McNeills to head up its information communications technology (ICT) team – its newest industry sector - based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
Paul joins the company from BSI, the UK’s national standards body, where he was responsible for setting up a new strategic business unit. He created the BSI Professional Services brand, and built an international team of 15 sales and project management professionals, serving standards-based consortia and collaborative communities very much like those in the Achilles networks. Much of Paul’s work was focused on sustainability and corporate responsibility which is his area of research and expertise.
In his new role as sector director, Paul is responsible for leading the team and growing the global corporate responsibility solutions spearheaded by Achilles’ E-TASC (Electronics – Tools for Accountable Supply Chains) service for the ICT sector, and associated audit schemes.
Says Paul: “The ICT sector has an innovative approach to corporate responsibility which can Ultimately contribute an exciting new element for the overall Achilles product portfolio across all industry sectors.”
Paul’s immediate challenge is to work on the development of a ‘roadmap’ and associated audit regime for the E-TASC service and its customers.
In addition to his new role at Achilles, Paul, who already has an MBA, a degree in chemistry and a PhD in chemical engineering, is currently completing work on his business doctorate thesis, taking ‘The standardisation of corporate responsibility from a learning perspective’ as his theme.
Married with two young children, Paul lives in Farnham, Surrey.
