Overview

The issue of climate change is rapidly rising on the business agenda. Companies have been looking at their own direct greenhouse gas emissions and are now looking to work with supply chain partners to reduce environmental impacts.

The Achilles carbonReduction programme allows buyers and suppliers to measure, manage and report their organisational carbon footprint via CEMARS (Certified Emissions Management and Reduction Scheme). Buyers and suppliers pay an annual subscription fee to have access to an online tool for gathering, calculating and managing data on greenhouse gas emissions. This data is then used to produce an Emissions Inventory Report, followed by a Management and Reduction Plan. Reports are then validated by an audit following which, the supplier receives an internationally recognised certification.
